Loading ...The National Institute for Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR) was present both at the Barclays Open (9th – 12th July in Loch Lommond) and the Open Championship (16th – 19th July in Turnberry); in both tournaments special activities to promote Argentina as a leading destination for golf in South America. In both events the web www.argentina.travel was presented and during the Open Championship INPROTUR lead an event with our main tour players and some specialized journalists and tour operators.
Argentina is the country with more golf courses in South America; it has more than 300 for golfers of all levels and 138 are located in the Buenos Aires area. And there are 15 under construction under the order of designers such as Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Greg Norman and Mark Adams. Golf has become a national phenomenon with more than 100.000 local players and a very popular attraction for international tourists due to high quality golf courses and the combination with the “After Golf” activities.
Golf is one of the most popular tourist brands in Argentina and the UK is one of the main markets. United Kingdom is one of the priority markets as it´s input of golfers has been constantly growing since 2003.
From the high mountains in Salta (North) to the end of the World at Patagonia, Argentina has golf courses for all tastes. Whether it is a for a business man with half a day free in Buenos Aires or for an adventure golfer who wants to play in the nicest landscapes in the world, Argentina can provide the best golf experience for all kinas of golfers.
